REMEMBER WHEN ...

1967 was a very good year. It saw the graduation of Tascosa High School's amazing seniors with their futures ahead of them and where anything was possible. We were invincable and ready to get started on with our lives.

In 1967 we saw the continued presence of American troops in Vietnam, the draft was on the mind of every young man at graduation. Everyone knew who Twiggy was and the skirts just got shorter and shorter (of couse Ms. Willy was right there to make sure they were long enough!), paper clothes even made an apperance even though they didn't last long. The Beatles reigned supreme with the release of "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band" and the summer of 1967 has gone down in history as the "Summer of Love". The Monkees, Rolling Stones, Turtles, Beatles and Doors as well as a bunch more great music was heard on KPUR constantly and blasted from our cars on our eight track tapes!

Movies included "The Graduate", "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Cool Hand Luke", and on television you could see The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, Laugh-In, Gunsmoke, Family Affair, Red Skelton, and Ed Sullivan. Color televisions were beginning to be more popular.
